NORTHWICH VICTORIA F.C 1ST BEER FESTIVAL SETUP

1ST NORTHWICH VICTORIA..F.C BEER FESTIVAL

This was the very first beer festival for Northwich Victoria Football club, the grand event was held at there ground in northwich on Saturday 20th june 2009. I was lucky enough not just to build the festival bar, but to also attend this great evening along with some friends. On the night there was a choice of ten real ales and two ciders on offer, all chosen from local micro breweries in the cheshire area of the north west of england. The event was organised by supporters and committee members from the club, who in the past have had a very hard time indeed due to issue's beyond there control. It was nice to see at the end of the night that everybody had enjoyed this great evening, and are all looking forward to the next one......

On this blog i have included some photo,s from

BEER FESTIVAL SETUP

As you can see on here I have taken some photo's of a beer festival that we set up in Liverpool. This was actually sited upstairs in a public house, so we had to carry around 20 9 gallon cask beers up 2 flights of stairs, which was very hard work indeed. I think the end result speaks for itself. After such a hard days work its nice to stand back and take on board the many compliments we had from the landlord.

HI AND WELCOME ALONG

Hi my name is Mark and I would like to welcome you along to my blog. For many years I have been interested in cask ales and bottled beers from around the world. In the coming weeks I hope to give you an insight into the fascinating world of beers and beer festivals, not forgeting to mention micro breweries and brewers. I also have the added bonus of building beer festivals along with my father Mike, we have been doing this for a few years now and we both really enjoy it. I have also been lucky enough to work behind the bar on some great festivals, and this gives me a great chance to meet lots of interesting people.

I hope you enjoy

BEER TYPES

Well in the world of beer you certainly are spoilt for choice, wether it be lager, bitter, mild, porter, stout .light beers, golden beers, dark beers, the list go's on,everyone of us is different, but then again where would we be without choices.Below is a breif discription to the best of my knowledge(i am not an expert in this field) of the most popular beer types we come across.

MILD
once one of the most popular drinks ,mild gets it flavour from the well roasted malts and barley that go into it,along with ,chocolate, coffee and caramel.dark in colour this beer in these times is looked upon as a old persons drink.which in my opinion is simply not true, brewers have seen a slight revival in mild, and given that may has been chosen as mild month shows there must still be a market for it.

BITTER

like in the title bitter gets its taste from hop aroma which is achieved from adding hops very late on in the process, even as late as just before distribution to its destination, bitters range in colour from bronze to golden, and now seem to be the preferred choice behind lagers.

LAGER

comes in many different styles anything from ,vienna lager, special lager, american lager, this drink is the one you will see most of.very popular with young drinkers, this was more than likely there first taste of beer, light in colour this ranges from low% to very high %.

STOUT

dark in colour stout contains various types of malt such as, roasted malt and caramel malt and a generous amount of hops.

I.P.A

India pale ale was originally brewed in England for export to India in the early 18th century and varies in strength from 3.5% A.B.V up to 8% A.B.V,
