HANDY THINGS TO KNOW

ABV.....this is the strength of the beer,that has been measured by the % of alcohol it contains.

CASK.....this is a barrel that continues to ferment after leaving the brewery.(live beer)

KEG....a brewery conditioned beer barrel .(used by mass produced brewers)

BOTTLE CONDITIONED....this is a beer that matures in the bottle,and contains active yeasts/sugars that go in during the bottling process.


STILLAGE.....this is what you will find in a cellar,and is a rack that the beer sits on to settle down.

BREWPUB....a public house that brews its own beer,ready to drink on the premises.

FIRKIN......a name for a 9 gallon cask

HANDPULL.......the device that sits on the bar and is used to dispense beer
